'Hey, Venus! Oh, Venus!'

It's naught to do with Frankie Avalon, but Venus passed between the Earth and the Sun two days ago, resulting in this time-lapse image:



This will not happen again for 105 (Earth) years, and TPM points us to a NASA composite video of the transit. Please have exact change, ticket or passkey ready upon entry. Oh, wait, different transit...

  1. Shame it was cloudy here at sunrise yesterday. Still all the great pics from Nasa et al make up for not being able to experience it in the flesh

  2. jams, I'm not even sure where my welding glasses are stored at the moment. I've seen many kinds of solar eclipses... including one where the gaps between the leaves in the trees projected tiny images on a brick wall... but I've never seen a transit. Oh well; that's what the Web is for.
