Wide shoulders? Nah... narrow mind. |
I confess I detest the man and everything he stands for. He is arrogant, self-important and sententious in everything he says. He also lies egregiously and frequently in his public capacity. One could argue he is better off as Speaker than he would have been as veep, but frankly, Speaker is a more powerful office, in which he can do more damage. The importance of a strong Democratic showing in the 2016 House election, especially if Republicans take the presidency (and I choose the word "take" advisedly, after sElection 2000), cannot be overemphasized.
Dog help us all in the next term!
He is pretty awful . . . the best thing I can say about him is that he is in shape . . .
ReplyDeletec, so (as I remember your mentioning way-back-when) was Dan Quayle. If a politician is sufficiently lame-brained, no degree of his being ripped can make up for it. Besides, I've met some exceedingly bright and sensible athletes; if I were you, I'd hold out for both! :-)
DeleteI remind you: Hatred is a republican thing and he is 2 bullets away from the presidency. Also misogeny is not just limited to conservatives and Japanese soups. I am scared.
ReplyDeleteShirt, Ryan himself reminded us of that fact in his short statement when he assumed the office. I hope it wasn't an invitation, but I've learned to take everything seriously in these parlous times.
