Re "October surprise...": that plan has an awful lot of "moving parts" to have much chance of real success. And the cost to Israel of being caught in such an endeavor is beyond anything they might hope to gain.
ReplyDeleteOctober surprise? maybe; it wouldn't be the first. Israel selecting the US president? If Bibi wants Mittens, he'd do better to provide him large amounts of (illegal) campaign money than to engage in a truly dangerous intrigue that could well ruin the Israeli/American relationship for decades. I don't think he's quite that stupid... obnoxious, not stupid.
Re: Bernanke... who believes economists anyway? This argument will be an easy sell to right-wing nuts and banksters; most Americans will shrug.
