ReplyDeleteThey have to give her an out. The powers that be have decided Palin is messing up their power grab so they're finding a way to let her save face and still rake in money.
ReplyDeleteThat's all she wants. Not to do the heavy lifting, the hard work of actually governing, but to do the fun part, the speeches, getting approval of the adoring crowds, the money. They are buying her off.
mandt, I confess I don't know the reference, but Sarah is about as soul-dead as they come, a completely cynical undeniable fool who is in it for herself and no one else. If she is causing the GOP a pain in the ass, well, that's her one useful contribution to the process.
ReplyDeleteellroon, I am still not comfortable with the violence-laden speeches Sarah has made. Yes, no doubt, they have First Amendment protection... they aren't specific enough about who is targeted to be prosecutable... but we've all seen in the past few months what can happen when a nut-case gets cranked up and takes a gun to a public meeting, and frankly, I don't want to see any more such incidents. The more I think about it, the more I perceive Sarah is like Ann Coulter in that respect.
