(1) Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment. Is that so difficult for Republans to understand? Oh, wait; they hate the UN almost as much as they hate human rights. <emily_litella_voice> Never mind! </emily_litella_voice>
(2) Everyone, without any discrimination, has the right to equal pay for equal work.
(3) Everyone who works has the right to just and favourable remuneration ensuring for himself and his family an existence worthy of human dignity, and supplemented, if necessary, by other means of social protection.
(4) Everyone has the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of his interests.

It's because . .
ReplyDeletea) they don't want to understand
b) they're only out for themselves
c) they've forgotten the ordinary people
My question is:
Who's going to do their bidding if they kill off us ordinary folks?
Kay, the hubris of the wealthy right wing is beyond belief. Somehow they apparently believe that they are exempt from the laws of science that control climate, oceans and agriculture. Maybe they're right... maybe they can allow all the bees to die off, mine vast quantities of seafood from the nearly-dead Gulf of Mexico, burn all sorts of fossil fuels without breathing the resulting air, build vast gated communities to protect themselves from starving masses, etc. ... but somehow I suspect they will ultimately have to pay the piper with more than money. As I used to put it (admittedly unkindly) during the previous administration, even Jenna Bush may one day go hungry.
