Boehner: 'Job Cuts? So Be It.'

"Fuck everyone but me and my campaign contributors," he did not say but might as well have. Here's what he did say:

In the last two years, under President Obama, the federal government has added 200,000 new federal jobs. If some of those jobs are lost so be it. We're broke.

In the Republan tradition, Boehner gives us two lies for the price of one: first, apart from temporary Census employees (remember, the Census is a constitutional obligation), Obama has added approximately 20,000 employees, not 200,000, to the federal payroll, and second, no government empowered to print money and assess taxes is ever broke.

If we ever had any doubt, now we know for certain the Republans' answer to the victims of massive unemployment: "FUCK YOU."

(Aperiodic reminder: "Republan" is "Republican" without the "ic"; I'll stop using it when they stop using "Democrat Party".)

  1. Sigh. As an Ohioan, I'm so ashamed of John Boehner. He's a Southern Ohioan and I'm a Northern Ohioan -- the joke is that a body can tell one from the other the minute they open their mouth.
To be fair, I know a lot of Southern Ohioans who are great!

The fact remains that he's a whiny idiot who sold his soul to Satan long ago. I'm ashamed that he calls himself a Catholic, too. He's a year younger than me and attended Catholic school so he learned The 10 Commandments and that ALL of them apply to ALL of us and knows that "Thou shalt not commit adultery." doesn't have a exception clause for him nor any of the others.

I am literally sick over what is happening in the country I was raised to love.

  2. Kay, I can't help agreeing with you, but that's probably because all the Ohioans I personally know are Northern Ohioans! :-)

Boehner is a piece of work, and the Republan House is proving to be as radical as anticipated. Even some more-or-less sane Republans seem uncomfortable with the leadership's slash-and-burn approach. From my perspective, we've been cutting taxes... mostly for the very rich... since 1980, and any further cuts are not cutting fat but are cutting straight into the bone. Obama's propensity to go along with the Republans' wrongheaded principles... real national budgets simply do not work like family budgets... means that we are in for some very hard times.
