TPM provides us a slide show of former Austrian paratrooper Felix Baumgartner's record-setting 4-minute, 24-mile-high skydive, the first ever to reach supersonic speeds... sponsored by, and advertising, a well-known energy drink. What a ride he must have had! Hoisted on his own pe... er... balloon, in a small capsule, wearing a space suit, Mr. Baumgartner showed his balls (metaphorically, of course) by leaping from the capsule at an altitude at which the curvature of the earth is clearly visible in the early photos of the slide show. As circus stunts go, this one is (ahem) the height of spectacle. Take a look.
AFTERTHOUGHT: the jump took place near... where else... Roswell, NM. Gotta make sure the aliens get a good look.

This time Red Bull didn't give him wings but it made damn sure he had a parachute!
ReplyDeleteSounds like something J. Edgar Hoover would have complained about: "Don't give me that Red bull!"
